The investigation had determined how Lam died, but did not offer an explanation as to how she got into the tank in the first place. Doors and stairs that access the hotel's roof are locked, with only staff having the passcodes and keys, and any attempt to force them would supposedly have triggered an alarm.[43] However, the hotel's fire escape could have allowed her to bypass those security measures, if she (or someone who might have accompanied her there) had known.[15]
Apart from the question of how she got on the roof, others asked if she could have gotten into the tank by herself. All four tanks are 4-by-8-foot (1.2 by 2.4 m) cylinders propped up on concrete blocks;[44] there is no fixed access to them and hotel workers had to use a ladder to look at the water. They are protected by heavy lids that would be difficult to replace from within.[3] Police dogs that searched through the hotel for Lam, even on the roof, shortly after her disappearance was noted did not find any trace of her, it was recalled (although they had not searched the area near the water tanks).
anon below you and its so disgusting that a bunch of horror movies or shows made scenes/eps ~inspired by her death
she was having a breakdown and not getting help and their first thought is 'lady going bonkers in a creepy way dies mysteriously better make this into a creepy movie'
christ i doubt it who's ableist? it's like if anyone has any history of any kind of mental illness, that gets blamed. srry2say but bipolar disorder doesn't make you hallucinate like schizophrenia would and her meds were detected in her tox screen so i doubt she suddenly went off them
yeah imo it's pretty ableist to blame her death on bipolar disorder especially because it shows a lack of understanding of what bipolar disorder even is and perpetuates myths that people with it are batshit insane
idk i mean i'm sure there's a logical explanation. i was reading one that makes a lot of sense, that she took some kind of synthetic drug hard to detect from a tox screen and acted weird and wanted to get in the water to cool off mayb. and there were ladders to the roof and apparently the water tank lid was only 40 lbs, plus it'd make sense she took her clothes off to get in the water. idk the elevator footage is p creepy tho
