so im finally trying to sort out my debilitating medical debt and i was looking thru my itemized statement...i had surgery several months ago and the surgery itself cost around $6,000 and a little bit of it was covered by insurance but my "recovery room stay" was $3,000! and NONE of it is covered by insurance! what the fuuuck i'm so upset. the recovery room was basically just a waiting room with a bunch of hospital beds where nurses watch to make sure u arent out of your mind on anesthesia but anesthesia doesn't rly affect me for some reason (i dont get loopy or tired from it at all) so i was allowed to go after 10 minutes of waiting. they charged me 3 grand to lay in a hospital bed for 10 minutes and get the "ok" to go. they should have tossed me on the street with a kick in the ass instead, i would have rather been sent out potentially intoxicated on anesthesia than owe that much for such a short amount of time.
ik its bad but i would have rather gone home and potentially died from complications or whatever might happen than this. i'm in so much debt that i can't ever see myself out of it. and on top of just the things i can see, i know a bunch of my accounts are already with debt collection agencies that hanven't contacted me so i have no idea how fucked my credit is or what to even do about those when i cant even afford the ones that are on file.
