I think a lot of people don't understand how frustrating it is for vegans to be constantly bombarded with things they don't see as ethical. I know it comes off as preachy to people who are not sympathetic to the issue, but of course a lot of vegans lash out when something like this is in the news, because it's a cause they're fighting for with a different face attached to it. Most people only care because it's a lion, and they think lions are more deserving of life than like, you know, a pig or a cow.
I'm not saying Kat Von D is the pinnacle of morale and that trophy hunting and eating meat are exactly ethically equivalent, and that human issues aren't important, but it doesn't mean she's wrong about people being hypocrites when it comes to animal cruelty.
