exactly! it's rly frustrating bc when i was non-verbal it was when i was a toddler so getting an autism diagnosis was life-changing in that i got the help to communicate verbally through schools/hospitals with disability units. when i was little i was brought up in a cdu and most of the more severely autistic children stimmed and didn't speak - to me the way tumblrines are going about it is almost like mockery, as though they see it an expressive "kooky" personality trait as opposed to part of their condition.
