i will take hunters who hunt for things they save the meat/fur/bones of over exotic poachers any day
where i live at least a lot of the hunters like that are also some of the most vocal proponents for gun control and hunting limits and keeping poaching illegal, because they know first hand how badly it can fuck up the ecosystem and their ability to do their thing
yeah i've been vegetarian almost 10 years and i have zero problems w/ ppl that hunt for food
i feel sympathetic to poachers vs ppl that go on canned hunts. poaching is usually a response to poverty and cultural differences on animal welfare views which can ideally be corrected w/ education + having actual jobs available to ppl. canned hunts are just rich assholes
