its tru when theres a new pride leader they kill off all the bbs that aren't theirs as a dominance thing

nah, mom lions often do care
if they think they can manage to defend the cubs long enough they will, or if they think it's worth the risk they'll leave the pride with their cubs
but often they choose to just let the cubs go, that it's not worth the personal risk
depends on the individual lioness, how many of their relatives they can depend on to help them, circumstances, etc
