i saw jen kirkman tonight and she was off her game :(
in the first 10 mins a drunk woman "awww"'ed when she was talking about her divorce and she took offense (tbh this is fair, she's processed it a lot even just in her comedy and this would nvr happen to a man in comedy) and it got weird and uncomfortable. i don't think she was even that serious but i think she realised she took it slightly too fair and it affected her set.
her bit on her grandma's death makes me die laughing tbh
i like her standup special. she's not a 1000 laughs per minute comedian and i appreciate that. she has some dumb opinions but she's more bearable then 90% of the comedy world and i feel for the fact that she is trapped by an industry that silences her while supposedly exalting free speech~~~ (wrt to what was probs louis ck sexually harassing/assaulting her and her hands being tied lest her career bomb)
tbh i like her the best when she's improving/riffing on podcasts
i agree. i was familiar with her through podcasts only before i watched her special. i liked it but i prefer her on podcasts. i love every episode she has done of tofop.
