my mom is extremely anti physical affection so growing up she'd never hug or kiss me or w/e

she came to see me off when me and my roommates left for vacation and we shook hands as an injoke about her hating hugs and now my roomies are acting like i'm an orphan from a dickens novel

this can't be that rare, can it? lots of ppl don't like physical affection
