if it was ageism, it would affect older men too

yes this is a thing that specifically is about older women, but it's still sexism jfc

men can not only lead films when they're older, they can still be superheroes

try to imagine a woman looking like jeremy renner getting cast in that

scarjo's so perfect and young looking that she looks plastic lol

just look what happened to maggie gyllenhaal

she turned too old for movies before she hit 30 almost :(

and she's not even half as grumpy cat looking as renner

now she's "too old" to play a love interest to a fucking 55 year old man

but it's just ageism

scarjo's casting makes especially no sense b/c black widow is supposed to have been a former kgb agent

unless they @ some point make a point to say the kgb was actually around long after it dissolved, she would have been like, 7 yrs old

even a slightly older actress would have worked a bit better

bc calling it ageism allows them to ignore the actual problem and continue to uphold the status quo while getting buttpats for acknowledging mirren's statement
