i know u were probably not born in the early 90's but it seriously used to be everywhere then. if u think it's bad now u have no idea what it was back then. now at least there's an understanding that it's smth they shouldn't be doing, back then it was just completely uncommented on 90% of the itme

idt they were viewed positively in twin peaks tho? like the only ones i can think of were leo/shelley and laura/everyone, and both of those were depicted as extremely fucked up
