i like angst as long as the story overall fits into the ridiculousness of the canon
like the comics get a lil angsty themselves idt its too farfetched

hoovy's backstory is pretty grimdark but even that's played for laughs
i like angst in silly canons but people need to remember to leave some humor in line with the original's tone instead of going full grimdark all the time

The issue of Native American wizards is one of the more extreme cases where the "don't think too much about it" aspect of any "hidden advanced society" premise runs up against what most of us would think of as morality. You basically have to accept that the Native American wizards just went "Eh, fuck 'em" while all their Muggle counterparts were almost completely wiped out.
