how can you tell which boxes are for keeping and which are for taking?

well this particular box was one i put in there when i moved so i know its ok
but theres a big pile of generic cardboard boxes that are piled in one corner
then a bunch more boxes that are like...actual product boxes i wouldnt take bc something specific goes in them
also a pile of ripped up cardboard/paper that is free for the taking
