aren't missionaries also often sent to areas w/ native/aboriginal populations?

like i'm not sure about australia (tho i can't imagine it's much different there) but missionaries are still active in native communities in canada afaik

like yeah criticise how missionaries work & how racist they are but don't shit on or ignore poc in "white countries" who are also targeted by them

idk how many american missionaries get sent to remote and majority aboriginal areas. the pickings are slim there i think, because most of them got converted to various sorts of christianity over 50 years ago, more like 100 years in most cases, and they've got their churches etc already. the cities are much more secular and the missionaries don't have to wrest ppl away from existing belief as much. also the aboriginal lands are hard fucking work and expensive too, and often not as safe as the cities. most modern missionaries don't seem real keen on ending up dead because the locals decided they were fuckstains.

also... I think the ones that are after an "exotic" native adventure tend to go to papua new guinea
