all through childhood, and often beyond, kids play with gender. it's clearly an important part of society, and how people treat them, as well as an important part of fitting in and matching expectations, so kids (being smart) are fascinated by it, by the rules of it, and what happens if u break those rules

and it really shouldn't be any weirder that a kid plays at being the other gender than that they play at being a dog, or a cat, or a pony. we don't call all those kids otherkin

nona's point in that comment was that *toddlers* (1-2 years old) are just learning what "no" means, let alone about other human beings outside their families and various ppl's genders including their own

your comment is also correct but applies more to slightly older children

yes, but toddlers are already aware of some of the gender expectations being put on them: you can see it when they're choosing toys and books

but i was basically agreeing that it's weird to call any kid trans
