not a lot is known about it bc there weren't many written records to begin with, and it was conquered when the spanish inquisition was in full swing so what little existed on most of the islands was destroyed, along with buddhist temples and etc. (similar to the conquest in mexico tbh). a lot comes from reading between the lines on spanish records.

i don't usually bookmark stuff, just read it, so that's about all i have. i remember wikipedia shockingly having a p. good source list for pre-colonial culture though.
there are some good but obscure books on women religious leaders in in pre-christian times. the babaylan movement has been growing out of the little bit that is known, and frankly it really idealizes things (sort of the se asian version of wiccans and their belief in celtic matriarchies or w/e) but some of the people involved are academics and do some good research.

tbh while softy's entertaining, if she's anything like her tumblr/anon persona irl subby should run for the hills bc her ass just seems exhausting.
i didn't realize that's what i was doing at first, until i realized i was spending more time praying for forgiveness for "sins" (mostly obsessive/intrusive thoughts) than literally anything else
i am doing better, but i'm really scared of slipping back into that again. and tbh after talking to other people with religious/superstitious ocd, i wouldn't be surprised if that's the case for some of the really devout people in catholicism. or any religion where sin or similar concepts are a component.
