psych bibas, i want to get into the show, but i have a few questions...

1. is shawn's orientation ever stated outright
2. do i have to watch every episode to know wtf is going on
3. is it ever serious
4. what are some good episodes to start out with

one: shawn is always portrayed as very straight especially in the pilot
two: no
three: there are serious moments and they're actually some of my faves of the show. for example: shawn takes a shot in the dark is a serious dark episode for psych at least
four: american duos

i cry every time at shawn takes a shot in the dark

and then i see gus's fireman pajamas

1. not that i can recall

4. start with season 2 and work your way up from there; go back to season 1 when you're done

1. not really, but he hits on anything that's vaguely attractive, tho he's only had girlfriends and whatever that is with gus
2. nah, it's pretty episodic
3. yes, and those are some weird episodes. i sort of like them, but i also really appreciate when they get back to the comedic stuff.

I'm only up to the beginning of season 5 but this is what I know so far

1) no but he's dated only women
2) maybe the pilot if you want but you can really drop in anytime, "two guys wackily solve crimes" is all you need

4) I like the american duets episode, the one where they go to a haunted house, and the one where shawn is in a telenovela
