i got bullied in middle school a lot because i had dark facial hair and sideburns and really gnarly forearm hair and noticeable fuzz on my stomach, and i became unhealthily obsessed with shaving and then diy waxing before i was 15

i still have a lot trouble seeing my arm hair and not feeling disgust over it tbh

but according to tumblr im yt so i dont have anything but the lightest blonde peach fuzz in the world

after i started shaving my arms i noticed just how many other girls had totally shaved smooth arms at like 12/13 :/ like girls who would def have noticeable dark body hair

it fucks me up how the media feeds the image of the perfectly smooth hairless woman and then children and especially young girls internalize it and attack each other for it and just feed into the cycle forever every generation

tumblr just isnt self aware enough to realize they've been brainwashed into the idea of no women except them having body hair, it's pretty sad

my mom got me to wax my stache at 9 and shave my arms at 12 after i told her what kids would call me at school, it took me awhile to feel fine with myself growing up tbh
